Okay, so what's "Ogún"?

As we learn at OrishaNet, "Ogún is the god of iron, war and labor. He is the owner of all technology and because this technology shares in his nature, it is almost always used first for war."

For anyone not engaged by African posession religions, Zorina Wolf adds, Ogún means "that part of ourselves at the very core of our being," which gives us the strength and endurance to grapple with Life. The Ogún-aspect of oneself may be surrendered, but it "can never ever be defeated."
