In early June 2001, GoGo, the redoubtable Eurovan Camper, and I made a five day journey to California's northern Sierra Nevada mountains.

Our unbending intent: camp beside five beautiful mountain lakes, hike to three others, and ultimately, breathe the clean air until my head cleared.
