Putting the Cypress Trees to Sleep (3)

 

The foreman began with his chainsaw, then switched to his handsaw.


When the top came down, it fell so slowly and gracefully, he guided it easily past the electric lines with his hands.

 

Now the foreman simply whittled the bare trunk down, until its top was below the wires.

Meanwhile, the other cutter had been working on the second cypress.

 

The foreman dropped chunks of the trunk safely past our all-important DSL line.

 

The rest of the trunk came out easily. It rode on their shoulders to the truck.
