Getting the computers, signs, and T-shirts out of the boxes and shipping cases was only the beginning.

The program manager checked the sheets, to make sure we put the right computer system in the right place. The rest of us transformed from freight handlers into network technicians. |

The convention center's electrician had to pull up part of our booth to run extra power for all our machines. |
|
Meanwhile we got our systems on-line and took care of the inevitable glitches, bugs, and gremlins. |

After about 6 hours, we had 14 PC's and 8 Sun systems up and running, plus a whole fleet of empty shipping cases.
Tomorrow the demonstration people would come in and try to make the computers do what they wanted them to do. But that wasn't our problem. Our work was done. |
